Day #243

Day #243Title: Brent
Location: Quayside, Maldon
Camera: Franke & Heidecke Rolleiflex T1 / Tessar 75mm f/3.5
Film: Ilford FP4 125
Notes: Alistair and I went for a damp walk around Maldon again today. We needed some fresh air. Steam Tug Brent is a familiar sight moored on the Quayside. There is a Trust set up which is trying to raise enough funds to have her restored and sailing again for the 75th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings in 2019.

Day #186

Day #186Title: Big Buick Grille
Location: Promenade Park, Maldon
Camera: Haking Halina Prefect / Haking’s Double Meniscus f/8
Film: Ilford FP4 125
Notes: Today I visited the Maldon Classic Car show – and got lots of colourful digital shots of the old machines. But I also took my Halina Prefect 120 box camera along for a spin. I have been waiting for a sunny day to go out and play with it, and this was the best excuse. For a simple box camera with fixed shutter speed of 1/50s (ish), only three aperture settings to choose from (f/8, f/11 or f/16) and fixed focus, it did a pretty good job of capturing the shiny chrome and curves. The guy who did my developing didn’t believe it was taken on a box camera! Ha!

Day #147

Day #147Title: The Anchor At The Prow
Location: Quayside, Maldon
Camera: Yashica 44A Blue / Yashikor 60mm f/3.5
Film: Rerapan 100
Notes: I went to Maldon to visit Carter’s Steam Fair today, and a look around the Quayside to test out my new Yashica 44A Blue baby TLR which arrived the yesterday. It’s a great little camera to use and I was pleased when I got the first roll of film developed that it doesn’t have any problems and appears to work just fine.
