After visiting the Pleasure Pier in Weymouth, my next stop of the day was a mile or so round the Bay to the Bandstand Pier. It is much truncated from its heyday, but still retains a little of its former Art Deco splendour.

Out front is a café and beach supplies shop which provided me with a tasty lemon tart and cuppa in a lovely seaside-themed mug.
My first pier of the day was the Pleasure Pier at Weymouth. It’s part of a working port and so isn’t very attractive, but there was a good vantage point for watching the Condor Catamaran sailing off to the Channel Islands (it has to back out of the harbour and turn around before heading pointy-end first).

There is no café at the end of the pier, but the Pavilion at the landward end has facilities for a cuppa and a slice of cake.
