I was visiting Glasgow on business for a couple of days and realised that Rothesay and Dunoon Piers were both easily reached by a half-day Rail & Sail journey from the city. So I planned an extra day in Scotland and headed out to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute as my first Scottish pier.
At Rest In The Harbour
The weather was a bit variable, but I could not fault the delicious Apple Pie which I enjoyed in a little café facing the pier.
After a little drive from Swanage, I soon arrived at Bournemouth, my penultimate pier for the day. It was a sunny afternoon with fluffy clouds above the golden sands. Plenty of people were out enjoying the sunshine.
Golden Sand & Fluffy Clouds
The café at the pierhead served a tasty slice of apple pie and a decent cup of tea. Lovely.
