Gavesend Town Pier

Gavesend is a town on the southern banks of the River Thames just east of London. Its pier is the oldest cast iron pier to have survived in the world, opened in 1834 on the site of a quayside mentioned in the Doomesday Book. Read more on the history of Gavesend Town Pier on the NPS website. Read more about my visit to the pier on 2nd July.
