A Birthday Outing

Despite a rotten weather forecast, as it was my birthday, Alistair and I decided to head out to one of our favourite pubs for lunch – The Fish & Eels at Dobb’s Weir. The food was very tasty, here are a couple of images I made during lunch:

The rain had abated slightly by the time we had finished eating, so we took a very quick walk along the towpath to find a nearby geocache. I was attracted to these two curly ropes on the roof of one of the canal barges on the way there:

The dry spell didn’t last long, so we fled back to the car and home rather than drowning!

A Day Out In Bath

I spent a few hours in Bath this afternoon, dropping off my portfolio at the Royal Photographic Society in preparation for my FRPS distinction assessment in October. Afterwards, as it was sunny, I went for a wander around the town with my Panasonic GF5, recently acquired as a replacement to my GF1.

I also enjoyed a rather good cream tea in Bill’s before getting the train back home again. Here are the rest of the images from the afternoon:

Chelmsford Photowalk #47

We had a lovely day out in Maldon today at the Bikes and Barges event down on the Quayside. There were plenty of shiny machines to photograph, great company, sunny weather and fun people to watch.

Photographically it was also very productive. I was able to chat to two more strangers for my project, #29 Tony and #30 Ross. There were mono details which caught my eye and the latest 50 @ 50 (2013) #26, as well as the best picture of Day #2008.

Here is the whole set from the day:
