October ’10 Review

As promised in the round up of my Scottish trip, I managed to get my Hebridean Landscapes book put together and published this month, so I’m very pleased with progress!

Photographically it was all a bit slow apart from a great autumn weekend in Bath at the end of the month. However, a few shots which stood out during the rest of the month were these:

Pavement Abstract was a strong candidate for Day #1023. It was taken after a heavy storm in London, whilst I was walking around Lincoln’s Inn Fields. The sun came out and the pavement shone.

The Deceiver was found in the woods on Galleywood Common one day when I went out on a fungi hunt on Day #1025 – apparently it’s edible!

I also spent a pleasant, if cold, Saturday in Great Notley Country Park looking for some geocaches and taking pictures. The image I chose for Day #1027 was specifically for one of my Treasure Hunt themes (which must be pic of the day), but I actually like this one better, pictorially speaking:

And this image is a closeup of the plaques around the base of the kestrel, given some toning treatments in Photoshop:
