Title: S Is For Sleek Location: Maldon, Essex Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 100mm EF f/2.8 L IS USM Notes: A detail from one of the shiny steeds at the Bikes & Barges event at Maldon today. This view suited the mono treatment well.
Title: Shadows & Highlight Location: Galleywood, Essex Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM Notes: After spending most of the day stuck in front of the PC, I took a late afternoon walk around Galleywood. I spotted this lamp on a wall and liked the minimal potential of the composition.
Title: On The Shoreline Location: Brightlingsea, Essex Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 100mm EF f/2.8 L IS USM Notes: I managed to briefly dodge some heavy downpours this morning and made a few images on the beach at Brightlingsea, before the rain really set in for the day. This seaweed was being gently washed by the high tide. I also made Day #2001‘s shot and found 50 @ 50 (2013) #23 nearby.
Title: Shiny Steel & Glass Location: St. Mary Axe, London Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 /14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS Notes: This sculpture caught my eye as I was wandering around in the City, waiting to meet a friend for cake, chat and later dinner. I liked the contrast in shapes and textures between the random shiny metal objects and smooth glass of a nearby office block.
Title: Antlers On The Wall Location: Colne Engaine, Essex Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM Notes: I enjoyed a country walk around the village of Colne Engaine today. I know some people keep their hunting trophies on the wall, but I’ve never seen antlers mounted on the outside of a house before!
Another varied and enjoyable month of mono image making. Join me in November ’13 for the next month-long stint. In the meantime, I will be posting random monochrome images here which I feel you may like to see.
