Per Ardua Ad Astra
Title: Per Ardua Ad Astra
Location: Cuffley, Hertfordshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: A detail from the memorial to 2nd Lieutenant (later Captain) William Leefe Robinson, who was awarded the VC for shooting down the first German airship on British soil. The SL11 crashed in the small village of Cuffley on 3rd September 1916. Per Ardua Ad Astra (“Through adversity to the stars”) is the motto of the RAF, or the recently-formed Royal Flying Corps as it would have been back then.

Sitting On The Fence
Title: Sitting On The Fence
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GX8 / Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 Lumix G X Vario ASPH Power OIS
Notes: I spotted these intriguing shadows this evening while out on a walk around South Mimms. The sun was at such an acute angle to the post that it had foreshortened the shadows and compressed them all up close together.
