Day 576 – Walkies!

Enjoying the view

Today was nice and sunny for a change. Uglydog was beginning to go barking mad indoors, so we decided to take him for a walk down by the canal. There are a lot of tall plants growing next to the water, and small folks like us can’t see very well from the banks, so Caz took us to the footbridge for a better view. You can see us sitting on the bridge watching the world go by.

Day 572 – Rube Goldberg Machine

Wheeee! What fun!
Wheeee! What fun!

We decided that making a big mechanical dragon was a bit ambitious (and Caz told us not to burn the house down), so me and Leo had another think about what to make. He’s a very lazy lion sometimes and this afternoon he wanted to play with his police car but couldn’t reach it. So we built a Rube Goldberg Machine so that I could give it a bit of a shove in the right direction!

You can see the contraption in the picture. I push the little red fire jeep and the first marble pops out of it and rolls down the track. At the bottom, it hits the dalek and the second marble, which then rolls down another track, round a bendy corner and through the long loo roll tube. Then it hits the Space Shuttle which whizzes towards the dominos which knock each other over. Finally, they flip the little bridge which sets the police car off into Leo’s paws!

Isn’t it clever?! Would you like to see it in action?

Day 571 – Ready To Build

What should we make?
What should we make?

Me and Leo had so much fun at the weekend at BarCamp Nottingham and the Nottinghack space. Now we want to make something. We have lots of bits and pieces but we’re not sure what we should build. Perhaps a roboduck like Mr Duck made? Or a big mechanical fire-breathing dragon like we saw at the Maker Faire! Yes, that’s the best idea…
