Day #311

Day #311Title: It’s All Dad’s Fault!
Location: Wivenhoe, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 17-85mm EF-S f4-5.6 IS USM
Extras: Tripod / Self-Timer
Notes: Way back on Day #38 I explained that it had been a decade since I started using a digital SLR. But my interest in photography goes back way beyond that. While I was growing up, Dad was rarely to be seen without a camera in hand – his particular interest being preserved heritage railways and industrial steam of the Midlands before the old engines disappeared (he even co-authored two books on the subject in the  1970’s). So photography has always been in my blood, I suspect! Here we are at my parents’ with a few examples of his prolific output. Perfect for Treasure Hunt Theme #55 – An Inheritance.

Day #307

Day #307Title: Tales From The Reading Room
Location: Cambridgeshire
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Extras: Tripod / Wireless Remote
Notes: Today I travelled to Cambridgeshire to stay with one of my oldest friends for a few days. We met aged 11 at secondary school, and have been friends ever since. We don’t see each other that often these days, but when we do (or call on the phone), we pick up the conversation just where we last left off! Victoria is a book lover and writes about literature at her blog, Tales From The Reading Room. Here you can see us relaxing on the new sofa, discussing books, life and other stuff.

Day #31

Day #31Title: Art Appreciation
Location: Ingatestone
Camera: Canon EOS 100D / 18-55mm EF f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
Extras: Gorillaod / CamRanger
Notes: I enjoyed a lovely lunch with my friend Ann today; we hadn’t seen each other for a while so we had a lot of catching up to do. I had told her that I’m doing an art appreciation course and she has lots of books on Art History, so I was able to choose a few to borrow and read at home. She’s not keen on being in front of the camera, preferring to hide behind her book on Art Nouveau!
