Day #2035

Day #2035Title: The Four Seasons
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: We went along to BarCamp Blackpool 5 today, at the Norbreck Hotel. This meant spending much of the day indoors. But we made the most of the sunshine first thing as we walked from our B&B. It was much better than the torrential rain which drenched us on the way back late in the evening! They are already gearing up for the Blackpool Illuminations – these four seasons displays have taken their place along the North Shore, between the tram tracks and the Promenade. The Cybermen also went to BarCamp Blackpool, and I made another mono image, Paddle In The Irish Sea.

Day #1953Title: Tulip Detail
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: I had another leisurely day today, pottering about doing a few jobs at home. I did take a walk to the shops for some provisions in the afternoon, and came across this bright cheerful tulip in a front garden along the way.

Day #1940Title: Springtime At TVC
Location: BBC Television Centre
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 10-22mm EF-S f/3.5-4.5 USM
Notes: We were treated to another beautiful day today. I took this view of the lovely magnolia flowering in the Horseshoe Car Park at Television Centre on my way into the building. Good job I did – I spent most of the rest of the day working in a room with no windows. As it was a Tuesday, I also indulged in another silly FDT shot during my lunch break.

Day #1909Title: Sandford Mill Footbridge – March
Location: Sandford Mill
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 10-22mm EF-S f/3.5-4.5 USM
Notes: I thought it was about time for another visit to Sandford Mill for Treasure Hunt Theme #03 – Once A Month – March. It’s been snowing again here – so much for the arrival of Spring after the Vernal Equinox! We’ve had about 5cm of settled snow, although it looks like less here – it’s a fairly exposed spot and I think the howling easterly wind was blowing a lot of it elsewhere. I decided mono would suit the mood. Coincidentally, it was exactly five years ago today that we had a dusting of snow on Easter Sunday.

Day #1897Title: Springtime Shock
Location: Bournemouth
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 /14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS
Notes: We enjoyed a late brunch at a lovely little café in Bournemouth and then rather foolishly decided to take a walk along the beach back to our hotel to check out before heading home. It was bitterly cold and the snow was swirling about – rater an anomaly compared to the springtime daffs which had optimistically started to bloom in the local park! Although I did photograph a rather attractive sunset closer to home, I made chose this one as it reminded me much more about the day.
