Title: Jetty Moorings
Location: Mersea Island, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 100-400mm EF f/4.5-5.6 L IS USM
Notes: There was some beautiful light today at Mersea Island. Although it was cold there was wall to wall blue sky for much of the day. These little boats were moored up on the jetty in the perfect place to catch the sun.

Title: Individualism
Location: Temple Newsome, Leeds
Camera: Canon EOS 5D MkIII / 40mm EF f/2.8 STM
Notes: After the partying yesterday, we needed to get out for a walk and some fresh air today, so Alistair and I decided to go searching for a few geocaches with our geofriend Mick. We ventured out to the parklands of Temple Newsome, a big country house on the East side of Leeds. We were very lucky with the weather – it was a blustery but fine Autumn afternoon with the rain holding off until we were safely enjoying a cuppa in the tea shop! Then back to a friend’s house for a fish and chip supper before we each headed off home in opposite directions.

Title: Dressed Up
Location: Clarence Dock, Leeds
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF5 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS Pancake
Notes: I wasn’t in much of a mood for photography today. I spent 5 hours driving to Leeds this afternoon (a journey which should take 3-3.5hrs on a good day). Once I’d arrived and checked in to our hotel, I made this quick shot of the dress I’ll be wearing tomorrow at a friends’ wedding. Then I met up with some other mates for some dinner, so not many more opportunities.

Location: Great Notley, Essex

Notes: Funky red blinds in the kitchen at a friend’s house. I was there this evening for a photo club committee meeting.

Title: Something’s Escaping From Number 53
Location: Great Baddow, Chelmsford
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF5 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS Pancake
Notes: Alistair and I went for a long geocaching ramble around Galleywood and Great Baddow this afternoon. We may also have stopped off at a couple of pubs to sample their wares. We passed the door of this Tattoo Parlour in Great Baddow on our return leg of the walk. I thought the scary skeleton escaping through the door was rather eye-catching.

Notes: I’ve been remembering my wonderful trip to Japan last September a lot this week. Last Thursday I gave my photo talk on my visit to Farnborough Camera Club. Today I thought I would show you one of the souvenirs I brought back with me, a lovely Japanese doll with Kimono and fan, photographed in front of some colourful Washi paper.

Title: Bright Squares At Your Feet
Location: Great Sutton Street, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF5 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS Pancake
Notes: We went for a pub lunch today – not far – just 3 floors down from the office! The Slaughtered Lamb on Great Sutton Street has some interesting coloured windows around the ground floor. I’ve seen them from the outside often enough, but have wanted to get a shot from inside with the light streaming through for ages. Today was the day.
