Title: Long Way Down
Location: BBC Broadcasting House, London
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: We were back at NBH again briefly today, to collect the last of the equipment we had rigged there for the Election. This is the view from one of the glass-fronted lift lobbies looking down into the newsroom 7 floors below. It may well be the last time I’m in the building for some time.

Title: The Last MCX Crew
Location: BBC Television Centre
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 10-22mm EF-S f/3.5-4.5 USM
Notes: The MCX Engineering team celebrate the last ever live transmission contribution from Television Centre for the Local Election programme today. Here you can see Rob, Peter, Paul, Marcus, Matt and me after TX had finished, with a little bit of fizz to say goodbye to the place.

Title: Blinded By The Light
Location: BBC Television Centre
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: We were treated to another wonderfully sunny day today. My attention was caught by the stripy patterns thrown onto the wall of this office by the Venetian blinds. I also found great shots for my [email protected] and Mono MayHem projects too.

Title: Helios Brings The Sun
Location: BBC Television Centre
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: At certain times of the afternoon, the Helios Courtyard is flooded with reflected light which bounces around the windows inside the circular donut, refracting into wonderful dappled patterns on the slabs below. Helios (the Sun God), who sits atop the now dormant fountain, was working overtime today – and I couldn’t resist using the fisheye from a low angle to get the complete circle in the frame.

Title: The Scenic Artists’ Workshop
Location: BBC Television Centre
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: We found the abandoned Scenic Artists’ Workshop today, not used for many a year. The light floods in from huge skylights above; the metal frames on each side wall would have had enormous canvases stretched over them for painting backdrops for the studios. Everywhere is spattered with flecks of paint from long ago. I loved how the drawer still contains a couple of old paint rollers too. I thought this would make a great shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #15 – Abandoned.

Title: South Hall Curves
Location: BBC Television Centre
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: I took the fisheye lens to work today to see what Telly Centre looked like through it. Curvy building through a curvy lens! The iconic stairs of South Hall look quite different with it.
