Day #1853

Day #1853 Title: Curvature III
Location: Oaklands Park, Chelmsford
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: I needed some shopping from the town today and as it was sunny, I decided to walk. I’m glad I did – there were queues for the car parks everywhere! So I was feeling rather smug about getting some fresh air, exercise and pictures while all the other lemmings were sat waiting in their metal boxes. My route back went through Oaklands Park, home of Chelmsford Museum, where I rather took a liking to the sunshine playing on the unnecessary but  beautiful Victorian ornamentation on Colonel Crompton’s lamp post. I’ve made a picture from it before (on Day #1665). I love the Victorians’ penchant for over-the-top decoration of purely functional things – just because they could.
