Day #2008

Day #2008Title: Bike Bits
Location: Maldon, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: I enjoyed a grand day out with photowalk friends Simon and Sue at the Bikes & Barges event at Maldon today. It was a fantastically sunny day, there were lots of shiny motorbikes to look at, we enjoyed a leisurely pint over lunch and generally pottered around happily. This striking paint detail on one of the bikes caught my eye – I particularly liked the shape of the brake light. There was also a blue one which I decided to choose as 50 @ 50 (2013) #26. I chatted to two more strangers during the afternoon, #29 Tony and #30 Ross, found some Strangers Had Landed and made another striking detail shot for the mono blog. You can see more of my images from the day too.

Day #2005Title: The Purple Pub
Location: Maldon Hythe
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 8-15mm Fisheye EF f/4 L USM
Notes: We had Summer evening photowalk to Maldon with GNPC scheduled for today. So the weather was grey and drizzly, turning even wetter! I did manage to find another [email protected] image for the collection, and a few others of interest. After wandering around for half an hour or so, a few of us gave up and retired to the pub where we spent a very convivial evening talking about photography instead of doing it. This is the The Jolly Sailor, a most welcoming hostelry on the Quayside.

Day #2003Title: Arable Irriguation
Location: Chignall St James, Essex
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: I was travelling light this evening so only  had the compact camera with me on my bike ride. I ended up just north of Beaumont Otes near Chignall St James, pedalling a round trip of 14.5 miles. I might have found a geocache in the process! This view was looking out across the fields towards the setting sun, watching the field irrigation system pump out gallons of water across the crops.

Day #2002Title: Spikes And Sunlight
Location: Little Baddow, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 100mm EF f/2.8 L IS USM
Notes: I had been stuck in front of the computer for most of the day but prized myself away this evening for a geocaching walk around Little Baddow. The light was great for a few shots through the leaves. This spiky specimen is the sort of hazard you have to avoid when out hunting for tupperware in the Summer! But at least it made a good picture for today.
