Day #1718

Day #1718 Title: Torii Tunnel
Location: Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine, Kyoto, Japan
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Another very busy and tiring day which kicked off with an early morning bus ride to Ginkaku-ji Temple and Gardens to avoid the crowds. Then a stroll down the Philosophers’ Path and on to Keage to catch a local train to Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine. I’ve wanted to photograph this location since first seeing it in a guide book ages ago. The light was perfect, and I didn’t have to wait very long for all the people to get out of shot. After a cooling green tea at the Shrine, I headed back into Kyoto intending to visit another Zen Garden on the North West of the city. But the buses conspired against me, and I would not have arrived before closing time. So I bombed out and headed back to the hotel to cool down before meeting some friends in the lobby for a Bento Box dinner from the store next door – we were all too tired to walk any further! Read more about my stay.
