Title: Perpendiculars
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 50mm EF f/1.4 USM
Notes: Finally some sunshine today! So I took the opportunity to walk into town and find a couple of geocaches. One was near the Salvation Army Citadel (which I last photographed on Day #443). This is a different angle of the same building. I liked the striking graphic shapes against the blue sky.

Notes: The weather has not improved very much. This bit of colour was about all I saw this evening on the way to the shops to buy a pint of milk.

Title: I Want To Slide
Location: Wood Lane Underground Station
Camera: Canon PowerShot G12
Notes: It’s amazing how many new things you see when you vary your routine – today I took the Hammersmith & City Line from Liverpool Street to White City instead of using the Central Line as I do normally. I was rather tempted to slide down these smoothly inviting handrails on the way out, but cowardice go the better of me!

Title: Gold & Blue Crown
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Strobist: 2 x YN560 from behind through yellow and blue gels @ 1/32, shooting through milky perspex; 1 x YN560 from right side through Opteka gridded snoot @ 1/64
Notes: Today I finally got some time to play with my new Splash Art II Kit which I collected from Joe Dyer at High Speed Photography on Thursday. It’s a great kit which means I can start making pictures really quickly, rather than an awful lot of setup which is required with my Arduino kit. I’ll still use that from time to time, but I’m looking forward to experimenting with this new equipment. I also re-organised my studio to give me a dry zone for making toy pictures and other macro shots, while keeping the splash kit set up in the wet zone. This was a simple crown made with water and a few drops of rinse aid in the splash zone to give longer tendrils. Read my full review of the Splash Art Kit.
