Day #1461

Day #1461 Title: Tree Climbing
Location: Chelmer Park
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 IOS
Notes: Alistair and I had great fun today looking for geocaches. The first we found was in a local park – I spotted it up the tree and Alistair went climbing to retrieve it. He loves climbing trees, so didn’t mind at all. Teamwork! We also went for a long walk near Maldon and bagged a load more – finishing after dark. But it was all good fun. A great way to end the year.

Day #1377 Title: Autumn Ride
Location: Hawridge, Bucks
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: I ventured over to the Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire borders today to do some geocaching with a friend who lives there. We enjoyed a 6½ mile walk. Whilst the weather wasn’t too bad, the light wasn’t really great for many photographs. We met this group of riders on a bridleway in the woods as we were returning to our starting point. I thought this would make a good shot for Treasure Hunt #35 Deep in the Woods.

Day #1328 Title: Over The Hill
Location: Herrington Country Park, Sunderland
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 10-22mm EF-S f/3.5-4.5 USM
Notes: Despite it being quite sunny today, I didn’t take that many photos. Alistair and I went to a Teddy Bears’ Picnic Geocaching event at Herrington Country Park near Sunderland. After a fine feast at the picnic with our teddies, we went on a plastic box hunt around the extensive park. All good fun.

Day #1161

Day #1161Title: Per Rege Et Lege
Location: Bridge End, Leeds
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Recovery day after Think Visibility. We had a leisurely breakfast at the hotel and then a pleasant walk along the canal finding some geocaches on the way back to the car park before the drive home. This is the Leeds City crest on one of the old Victorian bridges, given a bit of photoshop treatment.

Day #1113Title: Saturated
Location: Galleywood
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Alistair and I went for a quick walk this afternoon to find a new geocache close to home. We were the first to find it, always a nice occurrence. It had been raining heavily, so it was rather wet under foot along the bridleway we walked. Having dodged the puddles, we returned to the car. On the way, I found this drain cover overflowing with the rain.

Day #1108Title: Air On A G(tar) String
Location: The Woolpack, Chelmsford
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: A very busy day with little time for photography. I had a four-hour meeting in Cambridge during the best part of the day; it was pouring with rain by the time I drove home. After a quick turnaround, I went out to the 7th Bi-Monthly Essex Geocachers’ meeting at The Woolpack in Chelmsford – a great social evening with fellow tupperware-hunters. This guitar sculpture was on the wall in the pub.
