Day #1387

Day #1387 Title: Peaceful Moorings – October
Location: Sandford Mill Lock, Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: A quick walk along the canal today to take my shot for Treasure Hunt Theme #10 – Scenic Location – October. I was a bit disappointed that the trees have still not really turned for autumn here, so decided a mono treatment would work quite nicely.

Day #1135Title: Little Baddow Light
Location: Little Baddow Lock
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I  manged to slip out this afternoon for a while to grab some pictures while the light was good. This was taken at Little Baddow Lock with the sun sinking low and the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation looking rather splendid.

Day #1105Title: Paddling Onwards
Location: Cuton Lock, Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Another sunny day, so I went for a roam for some pictures and to do some geocache maintenance in various locations around Chelmsford. The light was fading as I approached Cuton Lock late in the afternoon. The water level was very high and was escaping over the lock gates at both ends. I was about to head back the way I came when I noticed two paddlers man-handling their craft into the water, presumably to bypass the lock. I managed a few hurried frames as they set off again downstream. This one reminded me of fellow 365-er Ken, a keen paddler in days gone by. But it is, for me, very fitting for Treasure Hunt Theme #70 – Strange Transportation.
