Title: Marconi Memorabilia
Location: Sandford Mill Pumping Station
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: I enjoyed a photoshoot with the Chelmsford Flickr Walk group this morning. We visited Sandford Mill Pumping Station on one of its few public open days a year. We were surprised what we found – all sorts of overflow from the main Chelmsford & Essex Museum at Oaklands Park – including lots of old radio and TV equipment. Very appropriate as today is International Marconi Day. Chelmsford Amateur Radio Society were operating two special wireless stations for the day – one voice and one Morse code. It was geek heaven! I thought this picture would make a good find for Treasure Hunt Theme #59 – Gauges, Meters And Indicators.

Title: Double-Enders
Location: TV Centre, London
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: There’s a long tradition of making the trainees clean the double-ender audio jacks with Brasso. It does serve a purpose – if they are tarnished, they can be dirty enough to stop a decent signal passing through. At least I’m not a trainee any more…

Title: Clock Heart
Location: River Ter, Nounsley
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: After 3 hours gardening this morning, and putting my feet up in the shade for most of the afternoon, I took a 3-mile walk around the River Ter near Nounsley in the cool of the evening. This dandelion clock caught my eye along the banks of the river. Although I’ve taken Taraxacum officinale many times before (on Day #54, Day #115, Day #244, Day #466, Day #482, Day #850 and Day #872), I thought I would give this a different treatment and used Tin Type from Nik Silver Efex Pro.
