Title: Studded Spiral
Location: Highwood
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I nipped out this morning before the rain started in earnest. This is a rather nice piece of ironwork on a church door in Highwood. I loved the weathering and patina. Although it’s not an image of the complete door, I thought it would make a good find for Treasure Hunt Theme #27: Doorways.

Title: Compound Eyes
Location: Galleywood Common
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: After being cooped up indoors all weekend at The Guardian for Science Hack, we decided to get some fresh air when we got back home. So we had a pleasant evening walk on Galleywood Common and then sat on the grass soaking up the last of the sun. I took the macro lens along too, and caught this fly lounging on a tree branch. I’m not mad keen on flies, but they do look interesting in close up.

Title: From Tree To Frame
Location: Stock Church
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: I took advantage of a brief period of sunshine on the way home from a meeting this afternoon. The light was nice just as I was passing through Stock, so I stopped off at the church and had a quick look around. This is one of the glazed porch windows, showing the trees reflected in them. Loved the grain of the wood.

Title: A Face In The Bark
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Quick shot in the garden today. I have a couple of railway sleepers in one corner and they had rather attractive frost and leaf patterns on them. I think the face looks a little sad, perhaps.
