Day #939

Day #939 Title: Under The Cupola
Location: Hadleigh Temple
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: This evening, I had the pleasure of judging at the Hadleigh Temple Camera Club for the first time. I had not had a chance to take a picture all day, and when I explained my project they very kindly showed me the glass cupola in the centre of the Temple. This was a view looking up to the ceiling, taken on timer, with the camera sitting on the floor.

Day #754 Title: Burger Van Stripes
Location: Chichester, West Sussex
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I spent a very enjoyable day in the company of various Flickr friends from Sussex, namely touchingthelight, Red Kite 2008, Erasmus T, chocaholicbumpkin, Kenny Boy1, malcolm bull and Russell Burstow. The first three I’d met before, but it was great tofinally meet the others too. We had a fun time in the Cathedral, walking around the picturesque streets, wrestling with errant Ketchup bottles in a new pink Café called Loco, and enjoying good company and lots of laughs. We even had some blue sky for a while, which surprised us all. This was a quick grab shot on the way back to the car, of a burger van roof in the Market carpark. It was originally spotted by Malcolm, who promptly got shouted at by the lady serving in it because she didn’t want her picture taken (he wasn’t actually taking her at all), but thankfully she didn’t notice me photographing the roof! We then all headed to the Chichester Camera Club Advanced Section’s wonderful Exhibition nearby, where there were many fine prints to give us inspiration and despair in equal measure! After tea and cake, it was then back to Steyning for an evening dinner and chat in the pub with myself, Erasmus T, touchingthelight and his lovely wife Carolyn. They very kindly put me up for the night too, which meant I didn’t have a long drive home after such a busy day. Really good to catch up with friends new and old, and we hope to do it again soon during the Spring.
