Day #937

Day #937 Title: Here Comes The Cavalry
Location: Glemham Hall, Suffolk
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 100-400mm EF f/4.5-5.6 L IS
Notes: I enjoyed a day out at Glemham Hall in Suffolk, with friends from the Chelmsford Photowalk group. We went to see the Salute To Heroes event which had loads of different eras of re-enactments going on, plus flying displays from the B17 Sally B and the Grace Spitfire. There were so many images to choose from, but I liked this one of  the 16th Lancers Cavalry on the charge. You cans see the other images in the Salute For Heroes Gallery.

Day #923 Title: Big Cat
Location: Aldeburgh, Suffolk
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After a really interesting tour around the Adnams’ Brewery this morning and lunch on Southwold Pier, we ventured to Aldeburgh for some pictures and a walk on the beach with an ice cream. There is a large shingle bank facing the North Sea and the local fishing boats have to be hauled up via big tractors such as this. I loved the contrast in colours.

Day #922 Title: Weekend Wanderers
Location: Saxmundham, Suffolk
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Despite the blistering heat, we decided to go on a hike around the local villages and into town (apparently only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun). This is the gang posing for a shot in Saxmundham. We then spent the afternoon exploring Framlingham Castle before changing for a posh dinner in Southwold.

Day #921 Title: Country Retreat
Location: Kelsale, Suffolk
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: My friend Alan is emigrating to New Zealand in August, and is due to get married to his Kiwi finacée over there in October. Rather than having a conventional “Stag” do, he decided to invite 8 of his close friends (boys and girls) on a weekend away in rural Suffolk. We stayed in a wonderful house which had this huge lounge on the first floor, overlooking the countryside. It had a really warm and cosy feel to it, despite its size.
