Day #1074

Day #1074Title: Fiery Sky
Location: Great Notley Country Park
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After a meeting in Braintree this afternoon, I was on my way home when I noticed there was a rather interesting sunset going on. So I stopped off at the Discovery Centre to make a few images. Unfortunately, I only got a couple of sunset shots, but was just a bit too late to make anything really interesting. By the time I climbed the hill to the Kestrel it was all but sunk below the horizon.

Day #1016Title: Sundown At White’s Bridge
Location: Margaretting
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I enjoyed giving my talk this evening on 1000+ Days of Photography to Upminster Camera Club. On the way to pick up a friend who wanted to come along, I stopped at White’s Bridge to take a quick shot of the setting sun over the Wid Valley.

Day #918 Title: Barbs
Location: Galleywood Common
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I haven’t been to Galleywood Common to watch the sunset recently. I’ve taken plenty of pictures at this spot before, but the farmer has now cleared away the attractive grasses and put up a new fence around the edge of his field. What a shame – the barbed wire doesn’t make quite such an inviting silhouette as the natural shapes did.

Day #813Title: Wingspan
Location: The Angel Of The North, Gateshead
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: We spent the early part of the afternoon walking around the area close to the Angel of the North before I headed home. I know this is a bit silly, but I persuaded Alistair to compete with the big bloke to his left. It is also rather a good find for Treasure Hunt Theme 14: Silhouette.
