Day #1091

Day #1091Title: Puzzled
Location: Elham, Kent
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: We had fully intended to take another walk today and hopefully shake off some of the excesses of overstuffing turkey yesterday. But somehow we got sucked into doing a huge jigsaw puzzle which Julian had been given for Christmas. It was over 1,000 pieces and was particularly fiendish as we didn’t get a picture showing us what we were making! So it took 5 of us nearly 6 hours to put it together. Here we are looking smug, having finished it at last!

Day #1090

Day #1090Title: Christmas Vista
Location: Elham, Kent
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After a leisurely breakfast and putting the bird in the oven, we decided to take a walk around the countryside. The snow was still laying quite thick on the ground, even if the roads were very icy. This was a view across the Elham Valley from the hills to the north. After a bit of yomping about we returned home to prepare the veg and welcome some more guests to the party.

Day #926

Day #926 Title: Purple Ridges
Location: Eynsford, Kent
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 100-400mm EF f/4.5-5.6 L IS
Notes: Ever since I saw Erasmus T’s photo of the Kentish lavender fields, I’ve wanted to go and have a look for myself. Last year I forgot until the crop was over. And this year, although I remembered, I thought I would not have the time to get over there before they harvested. But owing to my own stupidity on Monday, when I left my camera bag in my friend’s car, I had to meet him at Bluewater today to pick it up. “Aha!” I thought, the lavender is just down the road, so I hot-footed it to Eynsford and was pleased with the results, even if the weather wasn’t great. I’ve only just realised that it’s actually 2 years to the day since Erasmus visited!
