Title: Woodland Diversion
Location: Chieveley, Berkshire
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Alistair and I headed down to the West Country for BathCamp today and had a little pit stop on the M4 in Berkshire along the way. We decided to bag a couple of nearby caches – this was the walk along the bridleway to the first one.

Title: Pond Reflections
Location: Admiral’s Park, Chelmsford
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Alistair and I went for a short and ultimately fruitless geocaching walk in Admiral’s Park this afternoon. This was the scene across a little pond we found.

Title: Cache In, Trash Out
Location: Hadleigh Country Park
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Today I attended a Cache In Trash Out (CITO) geocaching event at Hadleigh Country Park. We found some caches and picked up 35 bin bags full of litter between us. Great to see so many people willing to give up their Sunday morning in such an altruistic past time! We had a good laugh too. I thought this would make an excellent find for Treasure Hunt Theme 51 – Eco Friendly.

Title: Oook!
Location: At home
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Another long drive today, but I finally made it home by mid-afternoon. The weather was grey and grim so I thought I would present you with this colourful chap which I found in a geocache on Barra the other day. He goes well with my red rucksack.

Title: Wandering Gecko
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 7D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: Sadly, not much time for photography today. So I thought I would show you this rather attractive Geocoin which I picked up at an event meeting last week. It comes from British Columbia and has been on the move since December 2008, covering over 10,000 miles so far. I hope you have many more miles in you, Mr Gecko! I will release it soon when I find another suitable geocache to put it in.

Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 60mm EF-S f/2.8 USM
Notes: I’m a bit rubbish at crosswords, but I needed to solve one recently to find out the co-ordinates of a geocache. This is my notebook where I keep such scribblings.

Title: Alone With My Shadow
Location: Old Hall Marshes, Tollesbury
Camera: Panasonic Lumix GF1 / 20mm EF f/1.7
Notes: Rather foolishly (despite feeling creeky after all that gardening yesterday), I decided to go to a geocaching event today. Against my better judgement, I was persuaded by some friends to complete the long 12-mile course, rather than the shorter 6-mile circuit. It was very hot, and although I took plenty to drink, I was really beginning to flag by the end. I finally finished in 6hrs 53 minutes – last, but I didn’t care – at least I had completed the course! This was taken at the very last cache location, looking out towards Bradwell. By this time, I was on my own with my shadow, so thought this would make a good shot for Treasure Hunt Theme 72 – Solitude.
