Title: Breakthrough
Location: Burnham-on-Crouch
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I had intended to take a trip to Maldon for the annual Mud Race today, but I got half way there and the traffic was silly, so I detoured to Burnham instead. The sun came out as I walked along the promenade, breaking through the clouds. I took a few pictures and then enjoyed a nice cup of tea and a toasted teacake in a little café looking at the water.

Title: Old Father Thames
Location: Westminster, London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Another trip to London today, this time to meet photographer friend Paulo for a [email protected]. We started off in Holborn and walked down to the river. Originally we wanted to go on a London Duck Tour but they were all booked up, so we took a regular boat from the London Eye to Tower Bridge instead. Finally, we had a potter around the largely deserted City, finishing up at Liverpool Street. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable day, and we were grateful for the good weather too.

Title: Maize Silhouettes
Location: Terling, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Alistair and I spent an enjoyable afternoon on a 5.5 mile geocaching walk around Terling today. There were some lovely landscapes to be seen, but this striking image of the maize silhouettes was the one I liked best.

Title: Follow That Snail
Location: York Way, Islington
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Alistair and I decided to nip out of Music Hack Day for a spot of Sunday morning geocaching, which took us along the canal towpath for a walk. This is a rather snazzy snail above the steps down to the water at York Way.

Title: Stratford Shadows
Location: Stratford, East London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After an enjoyable day in London attending the News Innovation unconference at NESTA, we relocated for a few drinks at a local pub in Holborn. I didn’t stay too long as I also have a busy weekend coming up, so got the train home aroun 9pm. As we were passing through Stratford, I noticed a rather nice sunset in progress. This is the best I could manage, taken through a dirty window on a moving train!

Title: Sunset Over The Hills
Location: Montjuïc, Barcelona
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: I am spending a few days in Barcelona visiting friends as one of my [email protected] events. After arriving in time for a late lunch, we spent the hottest part of the day relaxing at the apartment and then set off for a picnic at the castle on Montjuïc to listen to some jazz and watch an open air film. The sunset view from the top was spectacular – although the film was a little less so – 2½ hours of confusing plot, shooting and treble-crossing – and at the end, everyone ended up dead. Still, it was a fun evening!

Title: Galleywood Silhouette
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Another quick shot today, this time as the last of the sun poked throught some clouds on my way home from an evening business event in the centre of Chelmsford. I took a long cut back home via Galley End across the fields.
