Title: Centre Of Attention
Location: Westfield, Shepherds Bush
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: I met my former team leader Veronica today, as another [email protected] event. We have both worked in Shepherds Bush for years, and while I was around there were only a few paltry shops to choose from for getting anything to eat. Since I left the BBC/Siemens, they have built Westfield, the biggest shopping centre in Europe, right by Television Centre. So we had plenty of options of what to eat for lunch!

Title: Mud, Glorious Mud!
Location: Mayfield, Sussex
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I am on my way to Brighton for a conference over the weekend and am staying with a friend Tom who lives in Sussex this evening. We went for a pleasant (but very muddy!) geocaching walk with the family dog soon after I arrived this afternoon. Luckily, I had borrowed a pair of wellies, or I could have come to a very sticky end, not least as we were finishing our walk and found this big puddle in front of the gate across the footpath. Tess the dog did not seem in the least bit bothered. We then went for a rather good curry in Wadhurst, so another very enjoyable [email protected] thing accomplished!

Title: The Streets Of London
Location: King’s Cross, London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: We spent most of the day at Music Hack Day at the Guardian but a group of us skived out this evening to go down the West End to watch Avenue Q. It was excellent as usual. I spotted this view of the wet pavement on the way back to The Guardian afterwards.

Title: Built With Stripes
Location: ARU, Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: I went to one of my regular monthly business networking lunches at the Anglia Ruskin University in the centre of town today. And I knew that this week’s 52Themes2009 was Architecture, and I’d not really got anything decent so far, so I took the opportunity to take some images of this striking glass-clad building while the sun was out. It is part of the Ashcroft International Business School. The reflective metallic stripes on the glass are the same stuff which attracted my attention on Day #443 at the Sally Army.

Title: Tyneside Dusk
Location: Newcastle
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: After a dreadful rainy day, the evening cleared up a little and we were able to take a stroll along the Tyne to see some of the sights. Here you can see three iconic bits of architecture – the Tyne Bridge frames the Gateshead Sage Centre and Millennium Bridge in the distance. Visiting Alistair in Newcastle is another thing I’ve had on my [email protected] list for a while, and this picture best sums up the classic image of the city.

Title: Sandbanks Sunset
Location: Poole Harbour
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Having had a reasonable journey to Bournemouth, we set about finding some caches, then met up with friends in the area. For some reason, we decided we must go and find fish and chips in Swanage, so this was the view on the way to the Sandbanks Ferry just as the sun sunk below the horizon. Apologies for lack of posts, I’ve been having 3G connectivity issues. Fingers crossed they are all sorted out now.
