Title: High Street Reflections
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8
Notes: I survived two trips into town today, madness I know. But I needed something for tomorrow to go with The Present™ and the first one I bought was not the right size when I got it home. So I had to make another lightining raid late in the afternoon for a refund, and search out an alternative which actually turned out to be much better. And so did my photography – on the first trip, the weather was grey and horrible and I didn’t take a single frame. But later on, the dusk was fallling and some nice lights were on in the High Street. I have photographed this window before, on Day #65, but it never hurts to revist things, you can often make a different shot. And with that, we have reached the end of another year. Will you join me as I continue my journey through 2010?

Title: I See Stars
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: I went to the Essex Records Office this morning for a networking event run by Essex County Council. It’s an attractive, shiny modern building, but I must admit the grafitti in the car park next door caught my eye as well. This was the best of the closeups I found.

Title: Two Blue Bags
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: This afternoon, I had to pop into town to go to the bank and run a few errands. I took a few shots in the High Street and waited for various characters to walk into the frame. As soon as I saw this lady with her two back-lit carrier bags, I knew I had the picture of the day.

Title: Fluid Shadows
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: I managed to catch some briefly interesting light in town this lunchtime, after a morning meeting. This is down by a new walkway along the River Chelmer.

Title: Coming In To Land
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Another day which dawned without much promise weather-wise – the light was dull and the sky white for the most part. But in this instance, I managed to catch some seagulls coming in to land by some swans as they were being fed some bread in Central Park, framing it without any intrusive sky in shot.

Title: Coffee Morning
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: It was my usual networking group’s coffee meeting this morning, at our favourite independent café in Chelmsford. And then I had another one to one meeting in the same place afterwards. And a couple of hours later, a second – I might as well set up office there! And so I was a bit wired having drunk rather more coffee in one day than I would normally in a week! Still, the light was nice first thing and I thought this shot of a latté summed up my day nicely.

Title: Making Waves
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Reflections are always more interesting when they are broken up by a few ripples. Today, I found an obliging duck who produced some rather nice patterns in the water by paddling furiously below the surface.
