Title: Christmas Window
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Some of the neighbours have gone rather overboard with their flashing light displays in the front window. A straight shot produces something rather crass, but a lot of defocussed bokeh is quite nice.

Title: 2-4-6 8 Motorway
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: Another day of head down and get on with it, with little chance to get out and about for pictures. But I rediscovered this colourful little folding ruler in a cupboard I was turning out the other day, and I’m a bit of a sucker for funky stationery. It also rather suits this week’s 52Themes2009 subject Music (Interpret A Song). So here you have it, “2 4 6 8 Motorway” by the Tom Robinson Band.

Title: Spooning
Location: South Bank, London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: This morning, taking a short break from BarCampLondon7 at IBM, Alistair & I decided to go on a quick photowalk along the South Bank. We passed some interesting design shops near the Oxo Tower, and this set of nested spoons caught my eye in one of the windows.

Title: Neon Glow
Location: Spitalfields Market, London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I met up with some friends for dinner in London this evening, before we all headed off to a party. We decided to find something to eat in Spitalfields Market, and we were mesmerised by the constantly changing neon lights in parts of the building.

Title: In Relief
Location: Brighton
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Another image from the BarCampBrighton4 venue. This time one of the art works which were hanging on the walls. It was a lot larger, but I liked this detail from the middle.

Title: Indecision
Location: Writtle, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: It was time for another Chelmsford Flickr walk today, and this time it was just myself and Rodney who turned up to finish off the last section of the Cenetenary Circle. Actually, we are the only two who have walked the full route. It wasn’t the most interesting of lanscapes – more fields but this time mostly already harvested – but it felt good to have finished it off after 5 months! This image was one I spotted near the beginning of the trek near the River Can at Writtle. I’ll treat today as another [email protected] event, even though it’s happened over such a long period of time, and with others coming with us along the way.

Title: Walking In My Mind
Location: South Bank, London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I spent a great afternoon wandering the South Bank with my friend Ann, swapping freelance and photography tips, as another of my [email protected] events. Despite the unpromising weather initially, the sun came out for us and this image really struck me because of the contrast in colours against the normally drab concrete around the QEII Hall. The trees were also dressed up in red and white polka dots, which was rather fancy!
