Title: Watching Me, Watching You
Location: Leeds
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: We spent a very enjoyable day at PhotoCampLeeds2, and this was one shot I took during the lunch break. It’s one of the view places I could lay on the floor, look up the stairs and not have people thinking I was strange – they just took a picture of me instead!

Title: Dusk On The Aire
Location: Leeds
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Having arrived in Leeds for the weekend this afternoon, I met up with Alistair and we had a long walk around the city centre taking some photos and finding some geocaches. One part of the walk took us along the River Aire and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, and as dusk was falling, I wanted to get some long exposures to fit with this week’s theme.

Title: Topography
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: A very busy day today, with various meetings and packing for my weekend away. This was a hurried shot at home before I forgot to take something. I turned this candlestick at school when I was about 13!

Title: Bright Idea
Location: Great Notley
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: I spent the afternoon shopping with friend Anita as part of my [email protected] celebrations. As I was in the area, I decided to stay on for the Great Notley Photography Club still-life evening and we all brought along some bits and pieces to photograph. Someone had taken this Christmas light rope along and I homed in on three of its bulbs for an interesting macro.

Title: Crazy For Crayola
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: Another grey day, another dip into the props box to see what comes out. This one was lit with natural daylight; I tried it with flash too, but it looked rather harsh and flat.

Title: Tiny Treasures
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube / macro ring flash
Notes: Although I managed to get out for a walk this morning, the weather was terribly dull and uninspiring. So I decided to go for a bit of table top photography this evening. These exquisite little turned vases are 1/12th scale – the middle one is about as tall as a regular paper clip. And it fits in rather nicely with this week’s theme, Flash Photography.

Title: Flow
Location: Chelmer Valley Nature Reserve
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I met some Flickr friends this morning for a photo walk in Chelmsford. We decided to take a stroll to the Chelmer Valley Nature Reserve, but unfortunately the light wasn’t really very interesting. So some closeups of various things was about the best I could manage. This is a weir in the middle of the reserve, with a bit of fill-in flash to bring out the sparkles as the water flows over the edge.
