Coast & Cornwall Day 4 – Eden Project & Mevagissey

Monday, April 30th, 2007

I thought the day would be quite disappointing when I woke up to grey clouds and a forecast for heavy downpours. But then it occurred to me that being inside a massive greenhouse was probably the best place to be during the rain, so I headed off to the Eden Project mid-morning.

The first Biome I visited was the tropical one – bad news for photography because as soon as you enter, everything mists up with condensation. Quite annoying, and although I took a few pictures (they all have “built-in soft-focus filter”) but they weren’t up to much.

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

Lots more driving today, from Weymouth to St. Austell. I did a little detour for lunch in Teignmouth and found a pleasant little town with a picturesque bay:

Saturday, April 28th, 2007

The weather was a little hazy again today but I did manage to get some quite nice shots. I decided to visit the Purbeck Jurassic Coast today, and started off at the picturesque Durdle Door:

I spent quite a while driving today, stopping off in Dorchester on the way during the afternoon. But unfortunately, I didn’t feel very inspired by the town, and so made my way to Chesil Beach (it’s a long drive so I’m breaking the journey at Weymouth). The weather wasn’t great for photos – weak, hazy sunshine (I was hoping for blue skies), so I took a few pictures of things I found on the beach. Here are a few examples:
