Title: Wayside Poppies
Location: Sandford Mill
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I took a 3-mile circular walk this afternoon from Sandford Mill up to Barnes Mill and back along the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation, hunting geocaches. These poppies were just crying out to have their photo taken.

Title: Vineyards In Bloom
Location: Great Baddow
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Another scortching day today. I had to go into town for a couple of meetings and inbetween I went to the main Post Office to renew my car tax. However, I took one look at the massive queue and decided to go elsewhere. The only other Post Office nearby which sells tax discs is at The Vineyards shopping centre in Great Baddow, so I popped in there on the way home. The concourse has some rather impressive hanging baskets, which I thought made a colourful addition to the drab 1970’s architecture.

Title: Poppies In The Rain
Location: Cornish Hall End
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Lots of meetings today, and lots of driving between them. I managed to snatch a few minutes for lunch in a layby on the way from one meeting to another. The view was across this field of oilseed rape, peppered with red poppies which were a bit soggy after the rain.

Title: Wash Behind Your Ears
Location: Walthamstow
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: This is a fun wall hanging in a friend’s bathroom. It says, “Don’t Forget To Wash Behind Your Ears”! I liked the coloured shadows on the wall as well as the sentiment.

Notes: I went to a networking event this morning at a local café, and these colourful plastic knives, forks and spoons in the window display caught my eye.

Title: Urban Fragment #1
Location: Ingatestone
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Ingatestone Camera Club had an informal evening photo shoot around the village today. We were all trying to see something new or get a different angle on familiar objects. I liked the vibrant colour of this – shame it’s a bit grubby!

Title: A Touch Of Burgundy
Location: Roxwell
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Despite the sunny weather, I only managed to take about a dozen images today, and this was the best of them. Seeing it was a similar subject and point of view to yesterday’s shot, I thought I would give it a similar treatment. Let’s hope I come up with something more original for tomorrow.
