Day #715 Title: Fingers Of Frost
Location: Noak Bridge Nature Reserve, Basildon
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: We had a very heavy frost overnight, and in some places,  it hung around all day where the sun didn’t shine. I had to take the car for an MOT and service early this morning, and spent some time in Gloucester Park and Noak Bridge Nature Reserve in Basildon while I was waiting for it. These leaves were in a dim corner of the Nature Reserve and were still perfectly preserved with their icy coating.

Day #712 Title: Fungal Growth
Location: Hanningfield Nature Reserve
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I enjoyed a walk around the nature reserve today, and found these intriguing Fungi growing on a log.

Day #686 Title: Jaws
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: This week’s 52Themes2009 topic is Shapes In Nature. I thought this bit of my Aloe Vera looked like a crocodile’s mouth! A bitey shape, perhaps? Anyway, it fits the bill rather well.

Day #672 Title: Filtered Sunlight
Location: Hanningfield Reservoir
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Despite a different forecast, the weather was beautifully sunny first thing, so I decided to nip out for a quick walk in the nature reserve at Hanningfield Reservoir. It proved to be an excellent diversionary tactic from doing the filing at home, albeit temporary!

Day #648 Title: Seed Head
Location: Ingatestone
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: I went to help a friend buy a new TV this afternoon, and she very kindly cooked us some dinner afterwards. Before we ate, I had a wander around her garden and found these Agapanthus seed heads. It also fits in rather well with this week’s 52Themes2009 subject, Bokeh.

Day #624 Title: Rain, Rain, Rain
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: What an uninspiring day. Incessant rain, which hasn’t helped my mood at all. Yesterday, I found out a big project which I was about to start is – at best – probably postponed until next year, and – at worst – off altogether. I felt like taking a walk today but the rain prevented me from doing anything more than nipping to the shops in the car. Hopefully things will pick up soon, and I’m not just talking about the weather!

Day #605 Title: All Day Breakfast
Location: Wivenhoe
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: I spent the afternoon at my parents’ after a lunch time meeting in Colchester, and before an evening meeting in Ipswich. One of their rose bushes was being munched by these hungry little caterpillars. They are going to be big, strong butterflies, if the quantity of leaves they have noshed is anything to go by!
