Title: Inukshuk Shadows
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: A busy day at home today, and the weather was horrible for most of it. I was casting around looking for something new to photograph when I found a little model of an Inuit Inukshuk on a shelf. I used the office spotlights to illuminate it and cast a shadow on my desk.

Title: Crisp White
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Despite having a good walk this afternoon, I didn’t take a single picture. The light was a bit rubbish, to be honest, and the views weren’t terribly inspiring. So I have to resort to a glass of crisp white for today’s image, which I had with my dinner. I’ve done red before, but this is the first time for a glass of Gallo Turning Leaf Chardonnay.

Title: Disposable
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: After the last few days of sunshine, today dawned grey and muggy. I was poking around the house looking for something to take when I came across this set of wooden cutlery. I’ve no idea where I got them, but thought they would look good against a wooden chopping board. I liked the grain which came out, once I’d done a bit of fiddling with Photoshop.

Title: It’s A Portrait Shoot – Get Me Out Of Here!
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: If there’s one area of photography which I don’t enjoy, it’s Portraiture. And if there’s one area of photography at which I’m particularly bad, it’s Self-Portraiture. So when the 52Themes2009 subjects were announced, I looked down the list and inwardly groaned at the thought of Week 24. While it doesn’t explicitly insist on the “self” aspect, I also know that I’m going to be really busy until the deadline (next Thursday) and probably won’t have time to set up a meeting with any willing friends (co-erced by the promise of food or drink) or go roaming anywhere interesting for a candid shot. Ah, well, I guess I better just bite the bullet and go for a shot of muggins then. I know it’s not a very original idea, but you’ve got to cut me some slack!

Title: Smoothie
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: There were some strawberries in the fridge, and a couple of bananas which needed eating, so I mixed up a smoothie for breakfast.

Title: The Going Down Of The Sun
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 100-400mm EF f/4.5-5.6 L IS
Notes: Despite a sunny day, I didn’t manage to take anything very inspiring while I was out. I was resigned to having to put up an “it’ll do” picture, but then I noticed a rather nice sunset outside the bedroom window. I knew I didn’t have time to go out to a more interesting location, so I poked my 100-400mm lens out the window and took the sun setting over the rooftops. Let’s hope the neighbours don’t think I was stalking them…
