Title: Fyne Dining
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Today was the last of my 40@40 events! I went with friend Glynis for a lovely seafood lunch at the local Loch Fyne restaurant in Chelmsford. It’s been there a while, I gather, but I only just discovered it a few weeks ago. The sun was out and although it was too cold to sit outside, I enjoyed the shadows on the steps, so this is my image for the day.

Title: Profit Holes
Location: Waltham Bistro
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Lunchtime today was the Christmas party of one of my networking groups. We had an excellent menu, topped off by one of my favourites for pud, Profit Holes, aka Profiteroles. Nothing to do with my 40@40 which I did with friends Rob & Sue this evening. But we were so busy chatting and having a good catch-up that I forgot to take any pictures. D’oh!

Title: Cabaret!
Location: Roundhouse, Camden
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: After dodging torrential rain this afternoon travelling to and from a client meeting, I met up with good friend Julian for the evening. We had a lovey Thai dinner in Camden and then went to La Clique cabaret at The Roundhouse. An excellent show featuring jugglers, terrible magicians, acrobats and all-round performers. We weren’t really supposed to take pictures, but I managed to sneak this one quickly during the encoure. Another lovely 40@40 event.

Title: Wivenhoe Quay
Location: Fingringhoe
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Having spent yesterday in Colchester, I stayed overnight with my parents in Wivenhoe and spent most of today with Mum whilst Dad was out playing the organ for various church services. The three of us also enjoyed a pleasant lunch out. It was supposed to rain, but Mum & I took advantage of the good weather and had a drive and little walk. This is one of my favourite views of Wivenhoe, taken from across the River Colne at Fingringhoe. A lovely spot to catch the warm evening light illuminating the quayside opposite. A nice way to spend another 40@40 day.

Title: Coat Of Arms
Location: Colchester
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: I spent a lovely afternoon and evening with old school friend Karon, pottering about in Colchester where we both grew up. I haven’t been back for quite a while. We had a nice lunch and good old natter, before going back to her house to cook a tasty pasta bolognaise. It was good to see her family again too – and another enjoyable 40@40 day.

Title: Centre Of Attention
Location: Westfield, Shepherds Bush
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: I met my former team leader Veronica today, as another 40@40 event. We have both worked in Shepherds Bush for years, and while I was around there were only a few paltry shops to choose from for getting anything to eat. Since I left the BBC/Siemens, they have built Westfield, the biggest shopping centre in Europe, right by Television Centre. So we had plenty of options of what to eat for lunch!

Title: Boffoonery
Location: Bloomsbury Theatre
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: I enjoyed another evening for 40@40 with friend Alan today. We started off with a lovely Thai dinner and then saw the Boffoonery Comedy benefit gig for Bletchley Park at the Bloomsbury Theatre. It was a great wheeze
