Title: Fingers Of Frost
Location: Noak Bridge Nature Reserve, Basildon
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: We had a very heavy frost overnight, and in some places, it hung around all day where the sun didn’t shine. I had to take the car for an MOT and service early this morning, and spent some time in Gloucester Park and Noak Bridge Nature Reserve in Basildon while I was waiting for it. These leaves were in a dim corner of the Nature Reserve and were still perfectly preserved with their icy coating.

Title: Table Centre
Location: Mulberry House Hotel, Ongar
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I was having a lunchtime meeting today in Ongar and noticed these attractive silk flowers in the centre of the table. I also liked the condensation on the ice bucket.

Title: Jaws
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: This week’s 52Themes2009 topic is Shapes In Nature. I thought this bit of my Aloe Vera looked like a crocodile’s mouth! A bitey shape, perhaps? Anyway, it fits the bill rather well.

Title: Late Bloomer
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: Another dull grey day. Didn’t feel like straying far from home for any pictures (I was busy doing boring jobs like filing) but I found the Fatsia japonica was in bloom out in the garden. Nice little flower, isn’t it?

Title: The Season For Conkers
Location: Swan Wood, Stock
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: This week’s 52Themes2009 is The Seasons. I nearly forgot to take something suitable, but managed to find some nice autumnal scenes in Swan Wood on my way back from a meeting this morning.

Title: Autumn Shadows
Location: Chelmer Park
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: It was a beautifully crisp autumn morning and the weather forecast promised cloud later on, so I made the effort to go out for a quick walk first thing this morning. I have photographed these trees before, but they seem to have gained a lot of foliage since June. I’m sure it won’t take them long to lose it again.

Title: Autumn Decay
Location: Wivenhoe
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: I went to visit Mum & Dad for lunch today, and had a wander around their garden. They have a large selection of Hostas on the patio, which are now sadly looking a little the worse for Autumn. Interesting shapes and patterns though.
