Title: High Street Reflections
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8
Notes: I survived two trips into town today, madness I know. But I needed something for tomorrow to go with The Present™ and the first one I bought was not the right size when I got it home. So I had to make another lightining raid late in the afternoon for a refund, and search out an alternative which actually turned out to be much better. And so did my photography – on the first trip, the weather was grey and horrible and I didn’t take a single frame. But later on, the dusk was fallling and some nice lights were on in the High Street. I have photographed this window before, on Day #65, but it never hurts to revist things, you can often make a different shot. And with that, we have reached the end of another year. Will you join me as I continue my journey through 2010?

Title: Fyne Dining
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Today was the last of my 40@40 events! I went with friend Glynis for a lovely seafood lunch at the local Loch Fyne restaurant in Chelmsford. It’s been there a while, I gather, but I only just discovered it a few weeks ago. The sun was out and although it was too cold to sit outside, I enjoyed the shadows on the steps, so this is my image for the day.

Title: A Quiet Corner
Location: Oxted, Surrey
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I spent a very pleasant and leisurely lunch today with two fellow 365 folks, touchingthelight and Red Kite 2008. We arranged to meet up in Oxted, roughly midway between where the three of us live. The light wasn’t brilliant when we arrived, but we spent so long gassing in a quiet corner of the pub, plus feeding on an excellent menu, that by the time we decided to go for a little constitutional walk up the High Street, the drizzle had moved in and the light was terrible. I did manage to take this tableau of Ken and Caroline having a chat while I went to the bar. Another lovely 40@40 – just one to go now!

Title: Two Blue Bags
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: This afternoon, I had to pop into town to go to the bank and run a few errands. I took a few shots in the High Street and waited for various characters to walk into the frame. As soon as I saw this lady with her two back-lit carrier bags, I knew I had the picture of the day.

Title: Back At The Beeb
Location: White City, London
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I had a busy day of meetings in London today. One of which was lunch with some of my old Engineering buddies Malcolm, Chung and Paul from the BBC. It’s quite a while since I last set foot in Telly Centre, and it was good to see them and catch up with all their news. Hopefully it won’t be as long before we get together again. Another successful 40@40 achieved.

Title: Mercury Rising
Location: Colchester
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Not many picture-making opportunities today. This was a quick grab shot at the Mercury Theatre in Colchester as I zipped past after a meeting.

Title: Pleasure Beach
Location: Blackpool
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Alistair and I were helping out at BarCamp Blackpool today, which was being held in a conference suite of the Pleasure Beach. It was in a wonderful Art Deco building, and our lunch time view was from the balcony overlooking the huge rollercoaster. This was taken later in the evening, when some wonderful light was to be seen coming off the Irish Sea.
