2008 – My Year In Pictures

Notes: I drove over to stay with my parents for Christmas, and managed a quick walk around the Quay area of Wivenhoe before the light disappeared compeletely. Yes, I know it doesn’t look very dry. But as previously explained, it’s the name of the place.

Title: Down By The Pond

Notes: I spent a lovely day exploring various parts of the 22-mile footpath, the Centenary Circle, which rings Chelmsford. It was pretty cold and windy, but the sun was out most of the time and I got some great pictures. In fact, I had trouble choosing which image to use as The One for the day. The duck pond at Writtle won.

Notes: I took the opportunity to nip out for a breath of fresh air while the sun was shining today. And find another geocache or two. Once again, geocaching has taken me to a spot which I didn’t even know existed, and it’s lovely. It’s along the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation, just downstream of the Essex Record Office, and is about the last bit of civilisation before you hit the more rural paths along the canal.

Notes: One of the joys of being a freelancer is being able to arrange your working hours to suit yourself. Having been stuck behind my desk all day yesterday, I had a productive morning today, and so decided to bunk off for an hour or so this afternoon – I needed to go out to buy more printer ink anyway – so I took a walk along the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation at Sandford Lock. It was a wonderfully sunny afternoon with a light wind and blue sky. These narrowboats were begging to have their picture taken!

Notes: Meetings, meetings, meetings. This week seems to have been nothing but. And another one for me today in Chelmsford. The sun was out and the sky blue, so I shot this view of Cater House reflected in the River Can, as I was on my way to the venue.

Notes: After an evening meeting in Colchester, I managed to find a tranquil spot to watch some ducks have a swim on Ardleigh Reservior on the way home.
