Title: Rainbow Feathers
Location: At home
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: Nothing much to photograph outside today, the weather was pretty miserable. So I dug through the props box and found some colourful feathers to play with instead.

Title: Pink Neon
Location: University of Sussex
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Spent the day geeking out at BarCampBrighton3. Lots of good talks and plenty of freebies! The Student Union bar has disturbingly pink illumination though.

Title: Who Needs A Front Door Anyway?
Location: Writtle
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Despite living in the Chelmsford area for 16+ years, I realised the other day that I had never set foot in Writtle, a village a couple of miles west of the town. I decided to remedy the situation this afternoon, and was rewarded with a very enjoyable wander around. I stopped at the Church for tea and biscuits and pottered round The Green, a picturesque triangle of grass surrounded by lovely Georgian houses. There were people sitting enjoying the sun, kicking a football around and kids feeding the ducks at the pond. The good folks of Writtle seem to be mad for Hollyhocks - there were different varieties growing in just about every garden. This scene summed the whole place up. The Hollyhocks have grown to such a height and spread that they render the front door completely unusable. But who needs a front door anyway?

Title: Colour Clash
Location: At the supermarket
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: Not much time today, and less inspiration. The weather was cold and grey. By late afternoon, I could put it off no longer and venutred out to do the shopping - touble was, I left it ’til after the kids were out of school, so the supermarket was bedlam. That’ll teach me. This was a quick grab shot of a colourful bunch of flowers in the shop. Although I liked them, they were frightfully expensive, and not my colour scheme. At least a photo is free!
