Day #329Title: On Song
Location: Cliffs Pavillion, Wesctcliffe-on-Sea
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: Runrig have been one of my favourite bands for getting on 20 years. I first saw them live in Cambridge in 1989, and must have been to around 25 gigs over the years. The last time was December 2003 in Edinburgh when I was building my unsuccessful FRPS portfolio. Since then, they’ve not toured a great deal, or if they have, I’ve not been able to go for whatever reason. But today, they were on my doorstep (Westcliffe isn’t too far) so I went to their show with a couple of long-time friends and Runrig fans from Chelmsford. It was a great gig – still sounding good. Some of the audience were a bit stuffed, but we had a good time! Managed to sneak a few pictures with the compact camera which was in my bag. Thanks for the music and a reminder of how much better it is when heard live!

Day #40Title: Making A Splash
Location: College Wood, Fryerning
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 17-85mm EF-S f/4-5.6 IS USM
Notes: Another happy accident for today’s picture. I had stopped for a cuppa from my flask during my 4 mile walk, and just started off again when I came across two chaps with horses and gigs, picking their way gingerly through the mud and puddles. When they saw my camera, they said they would be back again in a minute, going hell-for-leather, and did I want to take some good pictures?
