Day #140Title: Parking Is Scarce
Location: Dedham, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Having been away for a week for a sensor clean, the 30D was ready to pick up today. Dedham is a short hop from Colchester, so I met my parents in the pretty village for lunch and a quick picture or two, before returning home to get on with some work. It’s always murder trying to park in the High Street as it’s a very popular destination for visitors. I love the old buildings, but it’s a pity there are so many cars in the way, preventing you getting a proper, uncluttered view from any angle.

Day #103Title: Tranquil Moorings
Location: Dedham
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: After a day out in Suffolk with my parents, we were cutting across country from the A12 on the way home and passed through picturesque Dedham, just as the early evening sun was hitting the boats moored on the river. A group of teenagers were playing Pooh Sticks on the bridge as I took this – proving that some, at least, aren’t so sophisticated that they can’t enjoy simple pleasures every now and then!

Day #13Title: A Thousand Eyes
Location: Hall Farm, near Dedham
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: I only had my compact with me today, so when I spotted several peacocks strutting about in the farmyard after a nice lunch in their restaurant, I had a job to shooting anything decent. The birds were rather nervy and didn’t hold still for long! This is a crop of a wider shot, but I like the more abstract feel of just the feather patterns.
