Day #322

Day #322Title: Boreham House
Location: Boreham, Chelmsford
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: I had to pop over to the Parcel Force depot in Boreham this morning to pick up a package, and took the opportunity to stop at Boreham house for a quick picture. I liked the muted tones of the day and thought sepia suited the mood rather well. Compare this with Ken’s version of the same location from a few weeks ago!

Day #299Title: Dusk On Writtle Green
Location: Writtle, Essex
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes: Despite the patchy weather, I managed to get out for a bit of fresh air this afternoon. But by the time I was heading home, dusk was beginning to settle in. This was taken as the light faded in Writtle.

Day #270Title: Cater House In The Can
Location: Chelmsford
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: Meetings, meetings, meetings. This week seems to have been nothing but. And another one for me today in Chelmsford. The sun was out and the sky blue, so I shot this view of Cater House reflected in the River Can, as I was on my way to the venue.

Day #263Title: Three Holloway Stooges
Location: Holloway Road, London
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: I went to the excellent Scriptingenabled conference today, held at the London Metropolitan University campus on the Holloway Road. One of the university buildings is this striking creation, the Graduate Centre, by renowned architect Daniel Libeskind. He also built the Jewish Museum in Berlin, which I visited a while ago. But I haven’t seen this one before. It’s been there a while, and the locals are pretty oblivious to its striking lines now.

Day #253

Day #253Title: Vaulted Ceiling
Location: BHS, Chelmsford
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: I stopped for a quick bite to eat in town this afternoon. The restaurant in BHS has quite an interesting vaulted roof.

Day #249Title: Wild Night On The Pier
Location: Brighton
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes:
The dConstruct08 conference was a great success again. The weather wasn’t particularly kind to us, and this quick shot was one I grabbed on the way to the after-conference party. The wind was howling around, but thankfully the rain stopped briefly!

Day #248Title: Pavillion Puddle
Location: Brighton
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 24-105mm EF f/4 L IS USM
Notes:
I travelled down to Brighton this afternoon ready for a conference tomorrow and over the weekend. It was great to catch up with some friends who I haven’t seen for ages. We took a walk around the town, dodging the heavy showers. This puddle was reflecting some of the Pavillion’s minarets quite nicely. A lot of the building is currently in scaffolding, so it’s a bit difficult to get a decent shot of the whole thing.
