Title: Sterling
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube / macro ring flash
Notes: Having seen Erasmus T’s shot of some Euros yesterday, it reminded me that I had a set of freshly-minted coins in the cupboard which I’ve been meaning to photograph for a while. They were a real pain as it turned out – they are mounted on slightly shiny black card, behind protective plastic. An utter nightmare when you add a ring flash to the equation! Still, a bit of perseverence and a lot of cursing later, I got something reasonable. It’s a special commemorative design of the Royal Shield of Arms. I’ve seen the £1 in circulation but don’t recall seeing any of the “shrapnel” from this set in my purse.

Title: Melting Frost
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: After yesterday’s near miss, I made sure I took something first thing today! Lucky I did, because although the weather was great for most of the time during daylight hours, I was very busy at home, and had to wait in for a Special Delivery parcel which never came! So much for being “guaranteed by 1pm”. But don’t get me started on ranting about the Royal Mail… This was a shot of some early morning frost melting from the top of my car as the sun crept across the roof.

Title: The Heart Of A Lily
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: I nearly missed taking a shot today! Made it by about 20 minutes, after having had a very busy day and then getting home just after 11pm to realise I’d still not taken anything. The lovely bouquet I got for judging the other day was looking a little bit sad, but I managed to home in on one lily and take a few macro shots of its central form. Then I remembered I’d not changed my camera back to GMT, so it nearly got recorded as being taken on 28th after all!

Title: 300 Days
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: Totally miserable weather today, good job I spent most of it at the online <head> conference. But it is Day 300, so I thought I ought to take something which fitted the milestone.

Title: These Boots…
Location: At home
Camera: Canon Ixus 850IS compact
Notes: I’ve been doing quite a bit of walking recently (not far by some standards, but I get about). And since this week’s 366 Theme is Boots, I thought I would present you with my walking boots. Didn’t have the opportunity to use them today though – I was busy at home at it was grey and grim outside

Title: Incey Wincey Spider
Location: At home
Camera: Canon EOS 30D / 50mm EF f/1.8 + 12mm extension tube
Notes: I went to put out the recycling for the dustmen this morning, and almost walked into this across the path! Argh! Not really so incey wincey. Just managed to keep my composure and grab the camera to shoot the distinctive Garden Spider, Araneus diadematus
